ElevateVoices is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that strives to empower underrepresented individuals by amplifying their voices and providing them with the education that they need to advocate for themselves.
ElevateVoices provided public speaking classes for kids at our local library. As a librarian who works with multiple presenters, I was blown away by how organized Sarina is and how well she interacts with a wide range of ages. The kids had a blast with the exercises and visibly came out of their shells by the end. Parents, too, gave rave reviews - so much so that we've invited ElevateVoices back multiple times!
Elizabeth Stinnette Children's Librarian at Purcellville LibraryI love that ElevateVoices added an advocacy angle to their debate/public speaking classes. Sometimes, we think of debate as arguments but it can used for good as well. They did a session where the kids had to make a persuasive speech and evidence to back up their statements. Then they had to present it in front of the class. What great experience that many adults even do not have.
